Some students at our school have the opportunity to be involved in the Mathematics Achievement Challenge. This is for talented mathematicians in Year 5 & 6 and some selected year 4's.

The goals of the challenges are to:

• Extend and enrich students in Mathematics at Levels 3 & 4 (MATHEMATICS ACHIEVEMENT CHALLENGE) in the New Zealand Mathematics curriculum.

• Complete high interest, open-ended investigations related to everyday life.

• Develop "inquiry learning" strategies & independent study habits at home and at school.

On completion of each Challenge, a very attractive badge and a certificate will be awarded.

Students are encouraged to complete Challenges at home.  Parental support is required and recommended although it does still need to be the childs work.
