Kapa haka is available for students to participate in as an extracurricular cultural activity. This is available in the Junior Syndicate and again in the Senior School. Junior participation is over one term and culminates in a performance at Assembly.
Senior Kapa haka is a longer commitment, usually over two terms and culminates in a performance at Ngāti Kahungunu Festival in November each year.
Students of Māori descent in Years 3 and 4 are given the opportunity to participate in this group but may not make the performance group. This is dependent on their maturity and ability to perform the skills necessary.
